My interest in the Steinberger guitar started with this beautiful black guitar....

The Audition...

Mid Atlantic Music
Elsmere, Delaware.

The "try for buy" experience took about 15 minutes, and I did it unpluged!

I held it to my chest and arppegiated the E major chord, the sustained notes lingered for what seemed to be "for ever" The salesman (Ron DeNest.) said: "It's too clean for the way you play Jim..."

I told Ron "Wrap it Up." Ron was quite surprised that I did'nt plug it in to an amplifier...

Ned Steinberger and me....

Ned was accessable!
He actually answered his phone!

One day about three months after I acquired the Black beauty, I called Ned Steinberger on a phone number that came with the guitar.... I found him to be quite soft spoken and wholsome man with enthuisasm about his products....

I told him about the nighmare that manifested when I experienced string breakage in the middle of a song.... I actually had to carry my Les Paul with me to "back me up" in case of string breakage....

I can still hear Ned laughing....

I played the lead guitar in a world famous rock 'n' roll horn band....

Switching from a plastic guitar to a wooden guitar left me in a difficult position as the lumber provided very much less instrument, in tone variation, note sustain, protection from feedback at high sound pressure level, protection from electric shock as a result of polarity missmatch, and more....

The Black beauty has a voice range that most closely resembles the voice of the Gibson Les Paul, however with the Active EQ, the voice can be dramatically moved into the Fender signature voice....

The White GL4 Comes out of the bag sounding like a Fender Telecaster, and/or a Stratocaster.... Both guitars feel like the classic Les Paul....

At 3:35 PM. on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 I sold both Steinberger Legend guitars to a man from Lexington, Massachussetts. The transaction occurred in the parking lot of the Citizens Bank at 146 Fox Hunt Drive, Bear, Delaware 19701.
